Halva is a special kind of Greek desert, though it is known to be originally invented in Multan, Pekistan in 18th century. Halva is available in two types ~ one is made by semolina and the other one is made up of tahini. Both of these two types are sweetened by using honey or sugar. Semolina type halva is basically prepared by wheat, sugar or honey, butter along with dried fruits. The tahini type is prepared with tahini seeds, honey or sugar and butter. There is another region-specific halva also available in Pakistan and India, made up of condensed milk and sugar. You can prepare halva by yourself too. At first, heat butter in a frying pan and let it melt. Add flour, make the heat low and stir repeatedly until the mix changes colour to golden, thickens and becomes aromatic. Now mix sugar to one glass of water and bring to a boil. Add little amount of saffron and rosewater and blend. Now garnish it with crushed pistachio and almond sprinkled and serve.
