I weigh 310 lbs, I'm 6 foot 1 inch and 37 years old. How many calories should I eat a day?

You should never drop below 1200 calories. So I would suggest an 1800 calorie diet and try and get at least 5 hours of exercise in during the week. Also, being 310 pounds puts you at an increased risk of diabetes as does animal fats so I would also say you should cut out as much red meat as possible maybe only two to three servings of it a week or none if that is possible. Fish and Beans are a GREAT alternate source of protein and have healthy fats and proteins that support muscle growth.

Id drop it under 2000 as ndquick or you may not see 50 my friend and cut out all sweets and white foods like bread and pasta and sodas and start really exercising. Good luck
