That depends on so many different things – I can't just give you a specific number!

The best thing to do is eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. Coupled with a healthy diet, this should stop you losing or gaining any weight.

As a rough guide, men are supposed to have around 2500 calories a day, and women are supposed to have around 2000.

However, gender isn’t the only thing that affects how many calories you need. Here are some others:

  • Age
  • Activity level
  • Metabolism
  • Height
  • How much muscle you have
  • Weight
  • Medical conditions
When you don’t think about what you’re eating, do you gain or lose weight? If you gain, try eating less or exercising more. If you lose, start eating more! Weight control can be difficult, but there’s a lot of common sense involved.

Good luck, and remember - things like alcohol and candy are full of calories, but they don't have any nutritional value. If you cut back on these things, you can eat more food without gaining weight!

You should eat 1,430 calories a day. The way you figure this is to take your weight and times it by 13.
